Cardiac Cath Lab Specialist II at Cone Health

Overview:  The Cardiac Catheterization Lab Specialist II independently provides direct patient care in within the cardiac catheterization setting and supports cardiac catheterization processes and procedures through equipment maintenance and hygiene. This position collaborates with the healthcare team to provide advanced patient care during procedures, ensuring precision and adherence to established protocols for optimal patient outcomes. Responsibilities:

 Assesses complex patients' medical history and current condition to prepare them for cardiac catheterization procedures.
Operates specialized equipment and monitors patients during procedures, ensuring safety and optimal outcomes.
Maintains a safe environment, adheres to universal precautions, and utilizes personal protective equipment to minimize risks and ensure the well-being of patients and staff.
Collaborates closely with the healthcare team, including physicians and technicians, to facilitate smooth and successful procedures.
Provides patient education and support before, during, and after cardiac cath lab procedures.
Adheres to professional advancement program requirements, engages in ongoing education, and mentors others to promote professional growth and development to stay updated with the latest advancements in the field, leading to improved patient care and clinical expertise.
Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications:

EDUCATION:Required: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Hospital Administration, or another Allied Health Curriculum

EXPERIENCE:Required: > 2 years Cath lab experience

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:Required:
North Carolina Board of Nursing License
RCIS for Cath Lab, RCES or IBHRE for EP, CCRN or RCIS for holding room
BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
