JOB RESPONSIBILITIES-
Cardiac Catheter Lab Technician

Cardiac Catheter Lab Technician candidates will have the following job responsibilities:
- The Cardiac Cath Lab Technician reports to the Cath Lab Coordinator and is responsible for assisting physicians during cardiac cath lab procedures, pacemaker/ICD insertions, Interventional Radiology and other miscellaneous procedures by operating the physiologic / hemodynamic monitoring computer and/or scrubbing for invasive cardiac and vascular procedures.
- Provides patient care to adult and geriatric patients.
- Prepares patients for procedures by reviewing medical history, draping and positioning the patient, preparing procedural/testing sites and administering contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
- Assists physician with performing diagnostic and vascular interventional procedures.
- Reviews results and takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues.
- Prepares equipment and supplies including sterile trays.
- Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters.
- Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment.
- Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.
- Assists with clerical and non-technical duties necessary to department operations, such as documenting procedures into department/hospital information systems, as per departmental policy, recording billing, editing and statistical information in radiology information system, maintaining and cleaning patient care equipment per infection control standards and evaluating inventory levels, to ensure par level of stock, suitable for the needs of division.

Cardiac Catheter Lab Technician candidates must meet the following minimum job qualifications:American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certified (ACLS) within six months of hire
- Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES), or Registered Radiographer (ARRT)
SHIFT INFORMATION -
- Shift times: 7a - 7:30p (12 hr shifts)
- Must have experience - ARRT/RCIS cert preferred
- Open to reviewing CVOR/CST with strong Vascular/IR exp
- Exp Scrubbing, Monitoring, and Circulating required
- 4yrs Cath/IR exp strongly preferred
- No mapping exp needed (performed by 3rd party company)
- Unit Beds/ rooms: 3 rooms, average 4-6 procedures per day
General Comments
Min Compensation: $38.48/hr
Sign-On Bonus: $25,000
Relocation: Case By Case Basis
On call: $4.50 per hr starts on Sat 7a - Mon 7a; Stemi and Stroke call included, average 8-9 shifts per month.
Weekend Shift Differential: $2.00/Hour
Call Back: 2hr min; time and a half pay
