Responsibilities of a Cardiac Echo Sonographer :

• Under supervision, the Cardiac Sonographer utilizes high-frequency sound waves and other diagnostic techniques for medical diagnosis
• The Cardiac Sonographer must be able to produce and evaluate ultrasound images and related data that are used by physicians to render a medical diagnosis
• Must acquire and maintain specialized technical skills and medical knowledge to render quality patient care including the injection of contrast media where applicable and institute life-saving measures
• Ability to prepare dosage and administer IV contrast

Requirements of the Cardiac Echo Sonographer :

• Graduate of an AMA-accredited educational program for Diagnostic Sonography or equivalent
• Prior work experience
• BLS certification
• Registry preferred, or registry eligible within 1 year of hire
