Your Role as a Cardiac Sonographer:

• Perform and interpret echocardiographic ultrasound studies on a variety of patient populations.
• Collaborate with physicians to develop preliminary reports and treatment plans.
• Utilize your expertise to acquire and analyze data, ensuring accurate and timely results.
• Work independently with minimal clinical supervision, demonstrating a high level of proficiency in all clinical modalities offered in the Echo Lab.
• Contribute to the team dynamic through effective communication, initiative, and productivity.

Qualifications:

• Basic Level Sonographer:
  • RDCS, RCS, or RCCS certification
  • BLS certification
  • Completion of an approved cardiac sonographer training program
  • Previous experience performing adult cardiac echocardiograms
  • Excellent communication and attention to detail
  • Flexibility to work weekends and holidays at all UCSF Medical Center locations
• Senior Level Sonographer:
  • All of the above qualifications, plus:
  • Minimum of one year of post-graduate experience performing adult cardiac echocardiograms at UCSF or a similar healthcare setting
  • Experience with congenital heart disease patients and HCM patients
  • Preferred experience with adult congenital, structural heart, heart, and lung transplant, and advanced heart failure patients
  • Preferred experience with VAD, ECMO, TAVR, Mitra-Clip, and other advanced therapies
  • Preferred experience with EPIC EMR and Syngo Dynamics system
