Cardiac & Thoracic Surgery Unit Advanced Practice Provider

With the recent hiring of two renowned Division Chiefs in Cardiac and Thoracic Surgery, we have experienced growth within our divisions and are tailoring the way we provide care to benefit our patients and their outcomes.  At Creighton University Medical Center, we are implementing a 24/7 Coverage Program for all Cardiac & Thoracic in-patient, ER Consults, Floor Consults, Triaging and Nursing support and hiring an Advanced Practice Provider to cover the weekend day shift to work either 3x12 or 4x10.  

The ideal candidate would round on hospitalized patients, providing cardiac and thoracic critical care assessments in pre and post-operative surgery.  The clinician will be an integral member of the Critical Care Unit Team, working with the attending physicians and other staff, providing necessary information for team-based care decision making.     

This exceptional position is a weekend day shift, joining another member to work either the weekend or weekday:

• Active Rounding 
• Pulling Chest Tubes 
• Replacing Feeding Tubes 
• Checking on Vitals 
• Checking on Labs 
• Running interference for the attending Physician 
• Managing treatment plans

• American Board Certified or Board Eligible in Specified Area of Medical Specialty
