About the Job
The Dental Care Coordinator (CC) works in partnership with the dental healthcare team to coordinate patient care by providing administrative and clinical support to patients and families. Dental healthcare teams may include Pediatric Dentistry, Craniofacial/Orthodontics, and/or Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. The Dental CC may participate in orthodontic treatment planning and case presentations based on the schedule set by the provider, and present information to patients/families regarding treatment options, insurance coverage, and financial resources. The Dental CC will complete charge review in the electronic health record (EHR) for dental billing and consult with revenue cycle resources to correct coding and billing capture as needed. They schedule/coordinate complex new patient appointments, follow-up appointments, studies, and procedures, and facilitate communication with other specialties across the patient's care plan. The Dental CC closely collaborates with registered nurses (RNs), dental assistants (DAs), and other interdisciplinary team members to coordinate/manage referrals, insurance authorizations, including denials and appeals, and other independent activities related to coordination of care.
**Required Education and Experience**
High school diploma or equivalent experience.
Minimum of four (4) years' experience in a combination of healthcare and administrative responsibilities, including progressive responsibilities in administrative support functions such as unit coordinator, insurance processing coordinator, patient care coordinator, MA, or related roles.

**Preferred**
Bachelor's degree in a health-related field.
Previous experience working as a dental assistant or dental hygienist.
Previous experience coordinating care for complex pediatric and/or young adult populations.
**Compensation Range**
$28.44 - $42.66 per hour
**Salary Information**
This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
