Job Summary:
Assist with the delivery of patient care and maintenance of unit environmental standards under the supervision of a licensed nurse.

Shift:
Full-Time Night Shift - 6:45 pm - 7:15 am, three 12-hour shifts per week
All shifts rotate throughout the week, including weekends and holidays
Department/Unit Summary:
The Division of Hematology and Oncology conducts research and treats all types of adult cancers including solid tumor cancers and hematological (blood) disorders, as well as coagulation disorders and non-cancerous blood diseases. With over 80 faculty members representing a broad range of professional training and expertise, our dedicated team of professionals is committed to cancer care through research to better understand and treat cancers; state-of-the-art patient care and personalized cancer therapy; clinical trials, including Phase I drug development with subsequent Phase II and Phase III testing; training future cancer doctors and researchers; and cancer chemotherapy, pharmacology, and biological therapy with an emphasis on solid tumors.
Care Partner Position Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent experience) _AND_ one of the following:
+ Current enrollment in a program of professional nursing RN and successful completion of the first semester of nursing school to include nursing fundamentals clinical , or
+ Graduation from a Nursing Assistant or Aide Training Program within the past year (the certification is not mandatory but a certificate of completion is necessary), or
+ Minimum of one year of previous ( and within the past two years ) experience as a care partner or nursing assistant/patient care technician.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assists with day-to-day delivery of patient care.
• Facilitates efficient and safe patient care and flow by following work area standards.
• Serves as a liaison for communication and education of patient and family needs.
+ Supports unit operations and patient flow by maintaining supplies, equipment, and unit environmental standards.

+ CLINICAL COMPETENCIES (Novice): Demonstrates competence with interventions (such as point of care testing, vital signs, etc.) in practical applications of moderate difficulty.
+ CARE PARTNER PATIENT DOCUMENTATION (Novice): Independently works with clinical applications for patient documentation.
+ ENVIRONMENT OF CARE (Novice): Demonstrates ability to set up and maintain patient rooms, supplies, and equipment. Possesses sufficient knowledge, training, and experience to be capable of successfully delivering environment of care services while requiring some support and instruction from others. Able to train and educate peers by setting the example, giving technical support, providing leadership, and generally elevating the level of performance of others while on the job.
