The Career and Workforce Coordinator will design, implement, and supervise all Career Center related activities to include programming towards assisting teens with obtaining employment, completing college and financial aid applications and preparing for standardized tests including service delivery, case management, peer- leadership and counselor-in-training program.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Maintain professional boundaries and client confidentiality at all times.
· Responsible for the day to day schedule of activities in the Career Center.
· Plan, organizing, and implementing Career Center special events.
· Coordinate services with other components of the Teen Center program.
· Ensure safety and program quality.
· Participate in community initiatives and represent the program in the community.
· Develop and maintain positive relationships with other community providers.
· Oversee daily curriculum of the Career Center.
· Plan and implement job shadowing twice a year as well as seasonal resource fairs, college visits, and other related activities.
· Participate in necessary support services case reviews.
· Ensure that documentation is meeting best practice standards.
· Ensure the collection and documentation of all needed program and outcome data.
· Participate in regional and agency-wide training programs.
· Complete own program, regulatory, and agency documentation and oversee compliance with program, agency, and regulatory documentation by employees.
· Encourage participation of youth in programs.
· Perform outreach to raise community awareness of Career Center activities and services.
· Responsible for reporting IT equipment repairs and maintenance requests.
· Participate in community meetings as required.
· Attend internal and external meetings and trainings as required.
· Work is performed in a community program and office environment with the use of office equipment. May included off site work assisting students on outings and other activities. Requires extended periods of standing, sitting and lifting.
· Other responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of three years’ work experience with adolescents in a similar environment.
· Bilingual in Cape Verdean and English to serve the specified community.
· Familiar with processes and preparations for college applications, financial aid, employment search, and standardized testing.
· Strong organizational and typing skills.
· Skilled in a wide variety of conflict resolution and mediation techniques.
· Experience working with community resources and familiarity with community being served.
· Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work cooperatively within the community
· Must be able to engage youth and encourage participation in relevant activities.
· Ability to work evenings as needed.
· Competent skills with Microsoft Office Suite, Office 365, Outlook, Excel and Zoom. Strong Internet skills.
