The Caregiver supports our mission and values by providing hospitality-focused service to residents of Compass Point Catered Living.
What will I do as a Caregiver?
- Act as a central resource for resident questions or concerns and refer them to appropriate staff for additional help, including families/vendors/peers.
- Supervise self-administration or administer medications per physician order under supervision of nurse.
- Maintain positive, confidential communication between staff, residents and families.
- Provide reminders to residents of appointments and activity events. Discuss and encourage participation in appropriate activities.
- Assist resident in keeping clothing/closets organized and accessible. Check clothing for appropriateness and cleanliness.
- Assist residents with daily housekeeping chores to maintain a clean, safe environment per service package guidelines.
- Assist residents with laundry per service package guidelines.
- Assist residents with reading mail, addressing envelopes, changing hearing aid batteries, etc. as requested .
- Accompany resident to health appointments outside of building as directed by Residential Health Care Coordinator/designee.
What is required in this position?
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Must be 18 years old
- Certification in Medication Administration and First Aid/Heimlich and fire safety training preferred, or will train. CNA certification preferred and/or demonstrated competency in direct patient care needs.
- American Heart Association (AHA) First Aid certification within 6 months of hire or within 2 years of your initial CBRF First Aid & Choking certification class. AHA First Aid certification is valid for 2 years and then must be renewed.
- Required to become med delegated upon hire and be able to pass meds.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in providing care or ADL assistance in an Assisted Living, RCAC, or CBRF facility required.
- Basic knowledge in computers, including the ability to obtain information via company email, send work orders, etc.
