Experienced Carpenter with at least 2-3 years related experience working in industrial/commercial construction
Provide rough & finish carpentry labor for construction projects as well as metal siding/metal building erection and provide general support to the Superintendent and other field staff.
Position Responsibilities: Performs framing and rough carpentry activities including layout, partition framing, exterior and interior blocking, floor, wall and roof sheathing and drywall, siding, soffits, fascia and other carpentry related tasks.
Construct, erect, install, and repair structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and wallboard, metal studs, metal framing, metal siding, hollow metal doors, frames hardware, trim and specialty items using hand tools and power tools.
Measure and mark cutting lines on materials, using ruler, pencil, chalk, and marking gauge
Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment Shape or cut materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power saw.
Study specifications in blueprints, sketches or building plans to prepare project layout and determine dimensions Assemble and fasten materials to make framework using hand tools and wood screws, nails, dowel pins, or glue
• Build or repair doors, frameworks, floors, and other wooden fixtures used in buildings, using carpenter's hand tools, and power tools.
Remove damaged or defective parts or sections of structures and repair or replace, using hand tools
• Construct forms for pouring concrete
Assist with demolition of walls, ceilings, floors, etc
Required Qualifications: Work requires, frequent lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling up to 50 pounds of material .Frequent walking, bending, kneeling, reaching and climbing
frequent use of hand and motorized equipment
Desired Qualifications:
Experience with metal building erection, metal siding and concrete a plus
Experience laying out building slabs, foundations and anchor bolts Experience reading construction plans
• Possess a valid driver's license
