About the Job
We are seeking a full-time Cartography Project Specialist 1 in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for owning small to medium cartography-related projects as well as coordinating between cartography and other internal or external groups and monitoring development progress along with managing product launch activities and maintenance releases.
Responsibilities:Essential Functions
- Collaborate with engineering, marketing, sales, MarComm, IT, and operations for product development, launch and lifecycle maintenance on cartography development
- Utilize independent judgment in organizing all aspects of Cartography Administration as it relates to releasing Cartography products
- Call and manage part numbers based on the Garmin Part Numbering system
- Create/manage bill of materials and execute Engineering Change Orders
- Identify/ensure all required components for mapping and accessory releases are in line to be delivered on time
- Analyze all product packaging and marketing materials to ensure contractual requirements for data vendors are met accordingly
- Execute/implement Garmin procedures for Cartography product development and release
- Manage detailed product development schedules and report product development status
- Initiate/update mapping product information for display on the Garmin website, ensuring accuracy and consistency
- Analyze, review, and suggest edits to marketing materials (including web content, brochures, and packaging) for Cartography and Cartography related products
Basic Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work independently, proactively and effectively with little or no supervision and to exercise sound independent judgment with excellent follow-up skills
- Must be positive, detail oriented, organized, team oriented, a multi-tasker, and self-starter with the ability to prioritize and manage time in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment
- Proficiency with common Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
