Location: Easton Corps, 1110 Northampton Street
Availability of Position: Immediate
Schedule: Full time; Monday – Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm
Reporting Relationship: Corps Commanding Officers
Salary and Grade: $15.00 per hour; 75 Non-Exempt

Position Overview: Provide necessary case management services to families and individuals participating in the Pathway of Hope program and assessing the basic needs of low-income individuals and families that come to the Corps for assistance in the form of food and clothing.
Responsibilities:- Complete intake and assessment of potential Pathway of Hope participants and assessing the basic needs of low-income individuals and families that come to the Corps providing assistance in the form of food and clothing.
- Maintain case record on each participant (includes assessments, a social history, action plan, progress notes, and other supporting documentation).
- Conduct case management responsibilities with participants in the home and in the office.
- Track outcome measures for the program accurately and in a timely manner
- Provide monthly statistical information to Director of Social Services, Corps Officer(s), DHQ, and THQ leadership as necessary
- Focus on the employment & income needs of participant
- Employment related services include assistance with job search including resume development,
- Employment application assistance,
- Practice interviews and post interview debrief
- Coaching regarding workplace issues that arise including
*Developing good working relationships with supervisors and peers,
*Time management, and
*Enhancing skill levels
7.Referrals to community-based mental health and substance abuse treatment services when applicable
8. Responsible for ensuring that program participants have access to mainstream health and social service programs such as TANF, Medicaid, State CHIP, SSI, Food Stamps, Work Force Investment Act, and Veteran’s Healthcare programs:
9. Assist participants to enhance personal social support systems through involvement with community activities, their children’s schools and with faith communities
10. Assist in identifying and teaching skills in the areas of:
- Parenting skills,
- Budgeting and personal finance,
- Cooking/nutrition,
- Conflict management,
- Substance abuse awareness,
- Educational advancement, and
- Job readiness and job search training
11. Maintains client record in the Service Point database according to THQ guidelines (training provided)
12. Participate in various community meetings and programs
13. Provide insight and program overview to community agencies and community members as needed
14.Performs related duties as assigned.
15.Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing. Bilingual in Spanish and English. (Optional)
16. A love and compassion for people who come in needing assistance.
17.Sensitivity to issues related to poverty and the barriers faced by people with low incomes.
18. Willingness to work in a team-based atmosphere.

Qualifications:- BSW or BA/BS degree in related social sciences field
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word\
- Valid PA State Driver’s License
- Hands-on experience developing case records, conducting interviews and performing case management
- This position requires an ability to research community resources to educate program participants
- Must possess good interpersonal skills and a desire to work with disadvantaged families and individuals
- Bilingual Spanish / English, verbally and written, highly preferred to best serve the community
- Must have an understanding of and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army
Child Protection Clearances PA Act 153 requires that all prospective employees complete the following clearance and background checks prior to employment: PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check.
