Cash Applications Pro – Healthcare Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED required; additional degrees or certs preferred.
• Experience: 2-4 years of cash application experience, ideally in a healthcare or medical billing
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) and experience with financial software (e.g., Epic, Cerner, or similar healthcare systems). Familiarity with EOBs (Explanation of Benefits) and ERAs (Electronic Remittance Advice) is mandatory.
• Attention to Detail: Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy in cash postings and reconciliations.

Cash Applications Pro – Healthcare Key Responsibilities

• Cash Application: Process, review, and reconcile payments received from insurance companies, patients, and third-party payers. Post payments in a timely and accurate manner to ensure up-to-date accounts receivable.
• Payment Reconciliation: Research and resolve discrepancies in payments and remittances, including overpayments, underpayments, and denials.
• Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with the billing team, revenue cycle management, and other departments to resolve posting issues and discrepancies.
• Monitor and Report: Track cash flow trends, prepare financial reports, and assist in month-end closing activities related to cash applications.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and participate in projects aimed at enhancing the efficiency of cash application workflows.
