About the Job
We're looking for a Cash Applications Specialist to join our growing team. This role offers a mix of remote work and periodic in-office attendance for team events and training at our operations hub in the Tampa Bay region of Florida.
The ideal candidate will manage financial processes, ensuring timely and accurate recording of incoming payments for our Receivables Department.
Core Duties:
- Handle various payment types (electronic transfers, credit cards, check deposits) following company guidelines
- Process account adjustments including fund transfers, balance applications, and refunds
- Reconcile client accounts and investigate unidentified transactions
- Address inquiries via email with precision
- Manage payment documentation, including digital record-keeping
- Interact professionally with internal teams and external clients
- Flexibility to work extended hours during busy periods, particularly at year's end
- Take on additional projects as needed
Requirements:
- 2+ years in accounts receivable or related accounting roles
- Strong ethics and professionalism
- Meticulous with excellent analytical abilities
- Self-motivated and able to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced setting
- Effective communicator with strong problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and relevant software
Education:
- Bachelor's degree preferred, but substantial relevant experience may be considered

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to:
- the individual’s skill sets, experience and training;
- licensure and certification requirements;
- office location and other geographic considerations;
- other business and organizational needs.
With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
