The role:
We are currently recruiting for a Category Manager to join our team in North America, this is a remote role and candidates will ideally be based in one of the following locations Georgia, Massachusetts, Missouri, Kentucky or Ohio.
Job Overview and key duties:
- Responsible for negotiation activities from request for quote to implementation.
- Provide updates to Procurement Director regarding market updates, supply disruptions, opportunities for improvement, cost reduction initiatives, etc.
- Working with Planning and Inventory team members to ensure consistency of our supply chain.
- Leader in category intelligence with ability to develop and present category procurement strategy
- Show a deep understanding of the business; presenting new opportunity and or partnerships to become industry leader
- Support budget activities and cost savings initiatives for your category
- Ability to document project plans, support product trials and develop success criteria
- Evaluate category risk factors and develop path to mitigation
- Ensure agreements are provided to encoders for ERP accuracy
- Build and Maintain strong internal and external communications
- Develop internal and external teams to facilitate exchange of ideas, struggles and improvements
- Conduct business reviews with key suppliers
- Maintain service level agreements with internal stakeholders
- Role model our values.
- Support the Corporate policies and ensure requests comply
Additional information
- Related bachelor's degree in a related field preferred and/or prior Procurement experience of at least 5 years – able to understand operational processes, customer requirements and technical attributes of the product range.
- Capability of multi-tasking, prioritize demand while maintaining attention to detail.
- Communication skills to collaborate and work across multiple functional areas.
- ERP implementation experience (IFS advantageous but not essential).
- Knowledge of lean techniques may be advantageous.
- Ability to travel as needed up to 25%
