We are currently looking for Catering Assistant to join our team. This position promotes the Club’s facilities for private banquets, business and social meetings, and other member-related activities. Will be tasked with delivering an outstanding service experience to all members and guests who enter the Oahu Country Club. This position will also develop contracts and oversee all administrative and operational aspects of preparing and serving events.

This position will also develop contracts and oversee all administrative and operational aspects of preparing and serving events.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Helps guests arrange banquets, breakfasts, luncheons, dinners, meetings, weddings, dances, and other social events and club events; obtains pertinent information needed for guest planning.
- Provides guest tours and offers suggestions in efforts to sell the merits of the Club’s facilities for the occasion being planned.
- Works with Director of Food and Beverage, Catering & Events Manager, and Executive Chef to determine selling prices for catered events; oversees the development of function sheet arrangements.
- Suggests menu and helps guests plan menu in conjunction with the Catering & Events Manager and/or other culinary personnel.
- Transmits necessary information to and conducts event planning with production, serving, and housekeeping staff; arranges for the printing of menu and procuring of floral requirements, decorations, and entertainment needs. Prices are quoted and adhered to in accordance with house acceptable policies, pending member’s final approval.
- Inspects finished arrangements; may be present to oversee the actual service and greeting of guests.
- Checks special function sheets against room set-ups oversee personnel scheduling for special functions and may help supervise service personnel.
- Handles client complaints.
- Maintains past and potential client files; schedules calls/visits to assess ongoing needs of prospective clients for catering services.
- Helps develop catering sales budgets, reviews financial reports, and takes corrective actions as appropriate.
- Helps guests with parking, entertainment, decorations, audio-visual, and any other requirements integral to events being planned, working closely with the guest in obtaining information and anticipating their needs which include seating arrangements, times, menus, special requirements, etc.
- Communicate well both verbally and written. Maintain communication with all departments of the Club - golf pro shop, facilities, grounds. Strong two-way communication with peers and senior leadership.
- Participate in Club Public Relations events as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Food & Beverage and the Catering & Events Manager.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- 2-year college degree or industry equivalent is highly desirable.
- 2 years of experience in a restaurant, club, or resort restaurant environment, preferably in a front-of-house manager or supervisor role.
- Knowledge of food and beverage/alcohol products is highly desirable.
- Ability to provide consistent, superior customer service.
