How You Will Make an Impact:
The Catering Cook works closely with the Executive Chef to prepare dishes and meals from scratch for onsite catered events at a large office complex in the Innsbrook/Short Pump area. While specializing in catered events, this position also supports the culinary team with food preparation and cooking for the onsite café. Some typical tasks include:
- Preparing a wide range of dishes according to set recipes, including hors d'oeuvres, entrees, side dishes, desserts, and special dietary items.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, including washing and sanitizing kitchen tools, utensils, and work surfaces.
- Follow food safety protocols by labeling, dating, and storing food products correctly.
- Assist in the setup and breakdown of catering events, including food stations and buffet layouts.
- Support the culinary team during service by preparing garnishes, sauces, and other elements as needed.
- Help with inventory management, including stock rotation and ordering supplies as necessary.
- Wash pots, pans, dishes, utensils, and other cooking equipment, as needed.
What You Bring to the Table:
- Previous experience as a cook in a catering or banquet setting a must
- Proficient in various cooking techniques and styles
- Open to ongoing skill enhancement and learning
- Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Neat and professional appearance
- Be able to lift up to 50 pounds
