About the Job
Outline of Job Duties:
- Supervise events and department involvements
- Attend event meetings with potential and existing clients
- Review details of events with appropriate leadership & staff
- Establish quoted proposal and pricing of events with clients
- Act as the Internal/External Liaison
- Internal: Coordinating product, purchases, and business needs with all internal company, store, or departments. (I.E. floral, wedding cakes, store purchases and/or transfers)
- External: Coordinating product, purchases, rentals, leases, and business leads with external vendors and/or companies
- Event/Site visits and/or walk- through with clients
- Negotiate contract terms & agreements
- Finalize event pricing and contract agreements with clients
- Ensure event planning sheets are drawn up and posted in designated areas and forwarded to Catering Chef and Banquet Manager
- Proactively recruit and train event staff
- Schedule and supervise event staff accordingly
- Ensure profitability of catering program
Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree or equivalent work experience
- 3 years' experience in Event Planning or Supervision
- Must be able to resolve differences through diplomatic means
- Must be knowledgeable in various training methods
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Flexibility in work hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must have excellent problem solving skills
- Must be able to lead by example to give Food City customers their best shopping experience
- Must be able to work effectively under strict deadlines
- Knowledge of Food City policies and procedures
- Expertise of all job duties associates must perform in each area of responsibility
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and/or written instructions, perform routine and repetitive tasks and have constant contact/interaction with various levels of individuals on a daily basis
- Ability to attend on-site work during normal business hours, in the typical work week, as well as extra time as needed to fulfill job duties
