We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Catering General Manager to oversee and manage all aspects of catering operations at our fine dining restaurant and event venue in Staten Island, NY. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading a team, delivering exceptional guest experiences, and driving revenue growth through high-quality catered events, including weddings, corporate functions, and private dining experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and lead the catering team in planning, executing, and delivering high-end events that meet and exceed guest expectations.
- Oversee day-to-day catering operations, including event setup, service, and breakdown.
- Work closely with clients to understand their event needs and preferences, ensuring personalized service and attention to detail, providing expertise in menu planning, venue setup, and event flow to create memorable guest experiences.
- Develop and execute sales strategies to attract and retain clients, grow the catering business, and increase event bookings.
- Lead the coordination of all event logistics, including staffing, menu customization, vendor management, and on-site execution. Ensure seamless communication and collaboration between the kitchen, service staff, and clients.
- Oversee budgeting, pricing, and cost control for all catering events including monitoring expenses and revenue to ensure profitability, while maintaining the highest quality standards.
- Recruit, train, and mentor the catering staff, ensuring that they are aligned with the restaurant’s service standards.
- Build and maintain relationships with vendors, such as florists, decorators, rental companies, and audiovisual providers, to ensure smooth coordination and successful event execution.
- Monitor guest feedback and satisfaction, addressing any issues or concerns promptly and ensuring a positive experience for all clients and guests.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Catering General Manager or similar role, preferably in a fine dining or upscale venue setting.
- Strong knowledge of catering operations, event planning, and logistics for high-end events.
- Exceptional client relationship management skills, with the ability to work with high-profile clients and deliver tailored experiences.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with a focus on training and developing staff.
- Experience in budget management, pricing strategies, and profitability analysis.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple events and tasks simultaneously.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities, with a customer-first mindset.
