Job Title: Catholic Musician.
Job Location: Altus AFB, OK.
Job Type: Part Time Job.
Schedule:
The applicant should conduct one worship service per week or as requested by the Designated Chaplain;
The applicant should conduct one rehearsal per weekday in support of the Music Director as requested by the Designated Chaplain.
The applicant should conduct Special Worship Service or rehearsal(s) as requested by the Designated Chaplain.
The applicant should arrive a minimum of 30 minutes prior to any rehearsal or worship service to insure that proper preparations of the facility, sound system setup (including microphones, music stands, etc.),music and any necessary coordination with the Designated Chaplain have been made.
Qualifications:
The applicant should have possessed a minimum of three years of experience as a musician with the ability to read music and play a lead instrument (guitar, piano, keyboard) to accompany the Catholic Mass Music Director.
The applicant should have display active membership/attendance at a church/chapel with a letter of endorsement from their current pastor/chaplain.
The applicant should have a complete resume with academic experience and at least three years of work-related references including phone numbers and points of contact.
Duties:
General Responsibilities:
The applicant should provide musical selections for the Catholic Mass as coordinated with Designated Chaplain and the Music Director.
The applicant should provide direction to additional musicians who may play a variety of instruments to include, but not limited to, piano, organ, guitar (acoustic, electric, and bass), drums and woodwinds.
The applicant should coordinate weekly music rehearsals on an agreed upon date with the Music Director and Designated Chaplain.
The applicant should at a minimum, meet twice monthly or as reasonably needed with the Designated Chaplain and Music Director to access the quality of the music program. This meeting will also be used to plan future musical performances.
The applicant should be knowledgeable in areas of Air Force Instructions (AFIs) relevant to chapel functions and willing to gain that knowledge to include financial procedures necessary for compliance with Air Force directives dealing with security and conflict of interest issues. Knowledge of scheduling policies is also needed to prevent conflicts with other users of chapel facilities and resources.
