About the Job
The Supervisor of the Comparative Bioscience Center will oversee the work assignments of one (1) to two (2) Group Leaders and multiple Husbandry Attendants.
Responsibilities:Responsibilities include and are not limited to the following:
- Schedule and monitor the work performance of assigned staff
- Conduct annual performance evaluations, drafting standard operating procedures (SOPs), staff training/development to ensure compliance overall
- Manage scheduling and timesheets and ensure the efficient daily operation of the workplace
- Maintain continuous communication across all levels of the organization
- Support a collaborative liaison between husbandry staff and the scientific community.
- Must have an influential and innovative approach to daily operations to ensure scientific support
- Other job duties will be assigned as needed
Position Qualfications:
- An Associate's degree is required, Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Certification at the AALAS Laboratory Animal Technician level is required
- At least five (5) years of relevant experience required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office is preferred
- Strong written communication skills, and excellent interpersonal and customer service abilities, including effective interaction with a diverse constituent population, are essential
- Detailed oriented, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously are required
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team is required
Applicants should show comprehensive knowledge and experience with all state and federal research regulations and the ability to identify common laboratory conditions. They should also be capable of developing standard operating procedures for proper operations and have knowledge of various biohazardous agents and methods to mitigate exposure risk.
Physical tasks involve lifting weights ranging from 10 to 50 lbs, pushing, and pulling equipment weighing up to 500 lbs, and climbing ladders, among other duties. Additionally, the role includes conducting physical workplace inspections, necessitating the ability to sit, stand, and walk varying distances and durations.
The schedule encompasses availability from Monday through Friday, with potential assignments on weekends, holidays, and on-call duty as needed. Job tasks may be subject to change based on departmental needs, and additional responsibilities may be added accordingly.

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on various factors, including but not limited to organizational budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The hiring range provided represents The Rockefeller University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
Compensation Range: Min:USD $60,000.00/Yr.Compensation Range: Max:USD $64,000.00/Yr.
