Elzly Technology Corporation (Elzly) is recruiting CCAT Senior Corrosion Control Technicians, Corrosion Control Technicians Under Instruction (U/I), and C5I Corrosion Control Technicians in Norfolk, VA; Mayport, FL; San Diego, CA; Everett, WA; and Pearl Harbor, HI. Elzly is a growing consulting-engineering firm that provides technical services for corrosion prevention and control. Our services include assisting our clients with field investigations of corrosion phenomena, research and testing of materials, developing training materials, and development of specifications. Required Education and Certification: High School Diploma or GED equivalent; and one of the following: related military experience, completion of trade/industrial school, or trade experience is required.
- Senior Corrosion Control Technician (Hull, Mechanical and Electrical (HM&E)) position requires:
- AMPP Senior Certified Coatings Inspector (formerly NACE CIP Level III)
- Corrosion Control Technician Under Instruction (Hull, Mechanical and Electrical (HM&E)) position requires:
- AMPP Certified Coatings Inspector (Formerly NACE CIP Level II) with Marine Specialty
- Corrosion Control Technician (Combat Systems, Communications, Computers, Command, and Control and Internet (C5I)) position requires:
- AMPP Basic Coatings Inspector (Formerly NACE CIP Level I)
- Approximately five (5) – seven (7) years of experience in the corrosion control field supporting U.S. Navy ship and submarine maintenance.
- Experience with processes and requirements as they pertain to shipboard organizational level corrosion control maintenance of HM&E systems and ships structure.
- Experience with surface preparation tools, corrosion control techniques and coating systems used on U.S. Navy and/or Coast Guard ships/boats.
- Experience with new corrosion control technologies and how they may be implemented on U.S. Navy and/or Coast guard ships/boats.
- Approximately seven (7) years of experience that is related to electronics and combat systems corrosion control maintenance on U.S. Navy ships and submarines.
- Experience with Electromagnetic Environmental Effects including Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) and Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) and methods to mitigate problems including but not limited to proper bonding straps, weather sealing and fastener selection.
- Experience with processes and requirements as they pertain to shipboard organizational level corrosion control of C5I systems and also must experience with corrosion control technologies and procedures.
- Thorough knowledge of surface preparation tools, corrosion control techniques and coating systems used on U.S. Navy and/or Coast Guard ships/boats.
Physical Requirements: Close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth vision, ability to adjust focus, work from a ladder or lift occasionally, safely lift 20 pounds, walk on uneven ground or terrain, work in confined spaces, crawl for extended periods of time, enter 24” diameter space, hearing, work outside (including inclement weather), manual dexterity (to handle small objects, instruments, or gages), wear a respirator, speaking and smelling.
Salary Range*: $37.83-$53.49/hour
*Rates provided from SCA, final rates to be determined by the contract and based on certifications, experience, and location.
