CCP Site Project Manager - Salado Isolation Mining Contractors

Salado Isolation Mining Contractors (SIMCO), managing and operating contractor of the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is currently seeking a qualified individual to serve as a CCP Site Project Manager and join our team to support our government customer in Carlsbad, New Mexico.

The successful candidate will serve as a Site Project Manager (SPM), as detailed in the WIPP Hazardous Waste Facility Permit (HWFP), for the Central Characterization Program (CCP).

The SPM is responsible for data validation and verification to ensure Transuranic (TRU) waste destined for WIPP meets the requirements of the WIPP Waste Acceptance Criteria (WAC). Additionally, the SPM will be proficient at procedure/document generation and reviews, identification and disposition of non-conformances, scheduling, and performance tracking. The SPM will interface with regulatory agencies including but not limited to the DOE, EPA, and NMED.

Exempt Grade Levels (30-33)

• Bachelor’s of Science degree in a relevant field with two (2) years of professional experience is required.
• Experience/Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications is mandatory.

Must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.

Preferred Requirements:

• Knowledge of RCRA Laws and Regulations is preferred.
• Knowledge of the WIPP HWFP and/or the WIPP WAC is desired.
• Preference given to applicants with previous work experience at DOE sites and/or experience with a WIPP Certified Program.

Minimum salary $78,719 per year of a larger salary range --the specific salary offered to a candidate will be influenced by a variety of factors, particularly the candidate’s relevant experience and education.
