Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and customer-focused CDL Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will not only be responsible for safely transporting lumber and building materials to various locations but also for providing exemplary customer service and enhancing the overall customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
1. Safe and Efficient Delivery:
- Operate commercial vehicles, including trucks with trailers and forklifts, to transport lumber and building materials to customer sites in a timely and safe manner.
- Comply with all truck driving rules and regulations as well as with company policies and procedures.
2. Customer Interaction:
- Serve as the primary point of contact with customers during deliveries, providing courteous and professional service at all times.
- Address customer inquiries and concerns effectively, ensuring customer satisfaction.
3. Material Handling:
- Load and unload materials onto and off of trucks, ensuring proper securing and handling to prevent damage during transit.
4. Quality Assurance:
- Conduct thorough inspections of materials before loading and upon delivery to ensure accuracy and quality standards are met.
- Report any discrepancies or issues to appropriate personnel.
5. Route Planning & Execution:
- Efficiently execute and assist in planning delivery routes to optimize time and fuel usage while meeting customer delivery requirements.
6. Documentation:
- Complete all required paperwork accurately and in a timely manner, including delivery tickets, logbooks, and inspection reports.
7. Equipment Maintenance:
- Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and cleaning on delivery vehicles and equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.
- Report any mechanical issues or concerns for prompt resolution.

Requirements:
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A, A with clean driving record.
- Previous experience in the lumber and building materials industry preferred.
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to accurately complete paperwork.
- Basic math skills for measuring and calculating materials.
- Physical ability to lift and carry heavy materials and perform manual labor as needed.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices.
- Hands on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, Smartphone)
