CDL Driver - Unite Contracting

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Class A Truck Driver to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating a variety of trucks, ensuring timely delivery of goods while adhering to all safety regulations and company policies. This role is essential in maintaining the flow of our logistics operations and requires a commitment to excellence in driving and customer service.

Duties

• 
  Operate tractor-trailer units for long-haul or local deliveries.
  
• 
  Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and securing of materials.
  
• 
  Drive a flat bed trailer.
  
• 
  Perform routine inspections on vehicles before and after trips to ensure safety and compliance.
  
• 
  Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel usage, and delivery times.
  
• 
  Navigate assigned routes efficiently while adhering to traffic laws and regulations.
  
• 
  Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise.
  
• 
  Utilize manual transmission when required, demonstrating proficiency in truck driving skills.
  

Skills

• 
  Proven experience in truck driving with a valid class A commercial driver's license (CDL).
  
• 
  Strong knowledge of tractor-trailer operations, including load unloading procedures.
  
• 
  Familiarity with route driving and the ability to navigate using GPS systems or maps.
  
• 
  Ability to operate forklifts for loading and unloading tasks as needed.
  
• 
  Excellent communication skills to interact with team members and clients effectively.
  
• 
  Strong attention to detail, particularly regarding safety protocols and vehicle maintenance.
  
• 
  Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
