Position Summary:
A Equipment Operator is essential to the completion of new construction, maintenance & repair of overhead electrical transmission, distribution & substation projects. This position works in various locations/requires travel to other states depending on customer needs. Ground hand work that consists of rigorous physical labor will be expected.

Minimum Requirements & Expectations (but not limited to):
- Work safely & understands work zones are new construction, maintenance, or repairs to energized & de-energized work.
- Capable of receiving and following directions.
- Has working knowledge of all areas of line work.
- Proficient in the safe operation of heavy equipment & vehicles such as:
- Bucket/line trucks, cranes, digger derricks, tractor trailers, etc.
- Capable of assisting with the installation and hook up of a single-phase transformer.
- Can identify primary & secondary voltage on a circuit.
- Must be familiar with induced voltage.
- Has basic knowledge of rigging principles.
- Assists with installing transformers, lightening arrestors, cutouts, cross-arms, insulators, switches & switchgear.
- Understands proper techniques for stringing overhead wire.
- Has basic understanding on proper technique for setting poles & anchors.
- Can perform basic bucket rescue.
- Ability to work with energized high voltage systems requiring skill & care.
- Able to identify necessary materials used in line work.
- Must understand:
- Minimum approach distances
- Excavation & shoring requirements
- Flag & tag procedures
- Proper use & care of hand tools
- Maintains company vehicles/equipment/tools in good working order.
- Completes all required safety training, & know/understand DOT and OSHA standard
- Ability to function well in a high-paced & at times stressful environment.
- Does all other related work as required to complete the job in its’ entirety.
General Expectations & Other Requirements:
- 1-3 years Heavy Equipment Operating experience
- Valid Class A-CDL is required
- Able to lift 50 lbs.
- Able to work overtime frequently & travel long distances.
- Able to read/write & communicate effectively.
- Must have acceptable MVR/background.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen & adhere to Company drug policy throughout employment.
- Capable of taking & following directions.
- Capable of participating in a pre-job or tailgate briefing effectively.
- Work as a team member.
- Meet E-Verification requirements.
Required Physical Skills:
- Able to perform rigorous physical labor for a continuous period
- Must be able to work outside, frequently in inclement weather
- Comfortable and capable of working at heights and or confined spaces
- Ability to wear PPE and understands when to wear it
- Able to talk, here, stand, walk, use hands and sense of balance
- Ability to sustain awkward positions/postures
