Title of Position: CEI Senior Bridge Inspector (Florida)

General Summary:
Responsible for performing highly complex technical assignments in field surveying and construction layout, making and checking engineering computations, inspecting construction work, conducting field tests, and coordinating and managing the lower-level inspectors. Work is performed under the general supervision of the CEI Project Administrator.
Essential Job Functions:
- Perform complex technical assignments in field surveying and construction layout.
- Make and check engineering computations.
- Observe and document construction work.
- Conduct field tests.
- Coordinate activities of lower-level inspectors.
- Confer with CEI Project Administrator/CEI Project Engineer to determine project details, such as plan preparation, acceptance testing, and field conditions evaluation.
- Confer with CEI Project Administrator/CEI Project Engineer to ensure that production and staff problems are resolved.
- Examine work progress, equipment, and construction sites to compare actual activities to specifications.
- Estimate job requirements.
- Provide advice on technical construction matters to clients, contractors, CEI Inspectors, and CEI Project Administrator/CEI Project Engineer.
- Plan and conduct field surveys to detail project sites and confirm existing conditions.
- Perform quality assurance assessments, assessing the actual to contracted service, materials, and construction.
- Act as a liaison between company staff, the client, and Contractors.
- Inspect, sample, and test materials entering into the work in accordance with the plans, specifications, and special provisions for the construction contract to determine that projects are constructed in reasonable conformity with such documents.
- Meet deadlines.
- Communicate with staff frequently using email and telephone.
- Complete a detailed daily log of construction and inspection activities.
- Maintain a safe work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Required:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Five (5) years of experience in construction inspection, of which two (2) years are in bridge and/or roadway construction inspection in a Senior Inspector capacity.
- CTQP Concrete Field Inspector Level I.
- CTQP Concrete Field Inspector Level II (Bridges).
- CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level I.
- CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level II.
- CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level I.
- CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level II.
- CTQP Pile Driving Inspection.
- CTQP Drilled Shaft Inspection (required for inspection of all drilled shafts, including miscellaneous structures, such as sign structures, lighting structures, and traffic signal structures).
- CTQP Grouting Technician Level I.
- CTQP Post-tensioning Technician Level I.
- IMSA Traffic Signal Technician Level I.
- FDOT Intermediate MOT.
- CTQP Final Estimates Level I.
- Nuclear Radiation Safety.
- SSPC Course: C-3 (Steel Bridges).
- AWS Certified Welding Inspector (Steel Bridges).
- Florida Stormwater, Erosion and Sedimentation Control Training and Certification Program for Inspectors and Contractors.
- Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable MVR.
Relationship to Others:
- Reports to CEI Senior Project Engineer or CEI Project Administrator/Project Engineer.
- Works with other Bridge Inspectors and members of the project team.
- Coordinates work with rigging contractors.
- May have field contact with clients.
