POSITION:Part-Time Central Registration Clerk
SHIFT:Days - (Flexible hours - Minimum 3 days per week) 1000 hours/year –dependent upon departmental needs
SALARY:$21.22-$26.30/hour (Outside applicants start at step 1)

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
To perform general clerical, customer relations, telephone communication, data entry and review, clerical technical support functions and other related duties for the District Student Data Systems, including supporting the online registration process. Advise the public of the registration process and requirements as they relate to the District's online registration. Must be able to handle multiple demands simultaneously and work is largely unsupervised.
ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:
- Working with the Title I office and legal services to identify and process registration issues surrounding homelessness, immigration, and other related family situations
- Working with the Truancy Officer and legal services to identify and process issues of district residency
- Reviewing, correcting, and overseeing online registration applications
- Performing data entry and lookup tasks in the Student Information System (SIS), in coordination with the Data Systems Specialist and the Coordinator of Student Information and Instructional Systems
- Serve as backup to Primary Central Registration Clerk in meeting with the public with respect to their students’ registration applications, required paperwork, and other registration requirements; during peak student registration times, serves principally as a student registration clerk alongside the primary Central Registration Clerk
- Compiling, reviewing, sharing, and acting upon daily reports with respect to outstanding registrations, pending documents and other important registration data
- Telephone communication as required by supervisor and/or department
- Maintenance of electronic & paper files and records as required
- Communication and office reception with staff, students, the public and other departments
- Responsible for any other clerical duties associated with District central registration program and student data
- Other related duties as required by the department and/or supervisor
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Should be familiar with District online registration process; must have a demonstrated proficiency with online, web-based systems, Google G Suite, Aspen, and desktop computers; must have the ability to communicate clearly and appropriately with staff and the public in person, via telephone, and via email; the ability to perform duties with an awareness of school department requirements and policies; should be familiar with office equipment, including, but not limited to: computer, calculator, telephone and photocopier; must have the ability to readily understand and carry out directions, both oral and written; reasonable speed and accuracy in typing and keyboarding; must be able to meet or exceed minimum standards set in regards to applicant testing; must have the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in written form; the ability to handle confidential data and material with utmost discretion; the ability to work independently with minimal supervision; and the ability to develop an effective working relationship with administration, professional staff, students and the community.
EDUCATION:
Such as may be gained through graduation from a senior high school or equivalent (GED), including or supplemented by business coursework, keyboarding and computer software application. Business or technical school graduates preferred. One year office experience.
