Central Supply Clerk - Heatherwood Rehabilitation & Health Care Center

We are hiring a Central Supply Clerk to join our dynamic care team at Heatherwood Rehab in Newport!

This is a part-time role. Two 8-hour shifts on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The Central Supply Clerk is responsible for ordering nursing/medical supplies as needed according to facility budget and resident needs.

No experience necessary!

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Ensure adequate levels of nursing supplies are available for staff.
• Collaborate with staff on purchasing of needed supplies.
• Seek to meet all staff/patient/resident supply needs within scope of budgetary parameters.
• Stock supplies.
• Compare bills against packing slips to make sure that charges are correct.

Specific Requirements:

• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
• Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the general public.
• Must be familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, basic computer skills and mathematical ability.
• Ability to work harmoniously with other personnel.
• Ability to minimize waste of supplies, misuse of equipment, etc.
• Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing practices.
• Be able to follow written and oral instructions.
• Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as be willing to handle residents, staff, based on whatever maturity level at which they are currently functioning.
