Responsibilities of Central Supply/Transportation Aide:

• Maintain and order all medical supplies and equipment for the facility from the appropriate vendors.
• Unpack all supplies upon arrival and or delivery.
• Ensure all purchase orders are properly, prepared, signed, and submitted as required in procurement policies and procedures.
• Assist in preparing correspondence and claims concerning damaged merchandise, errors in shipment, etc., and return to vendor as required.
• Assist in developing methods for determining the quantity of supplies and equipment required.
• Ensure various departments are properly charged with supplies they have received for cost allocation purposes.
• Ensure that supplies and equipment are properly maintained.
• Ensure inventory is updated and storage instructions are followed as required.
• Maintain supply and storage rooms in a safe, clean, and orderly condition.
• Clean and check equipment as directed/necessary.
• Report equipment malfunctions to your supervisor as soon as possible.
• Manage Part B supplies and documentation.
• Stock and distribute supplies to each nursing unit and other locations as needed.
• Maintain a documented, organized system that is readily accessible to others.
• Perform other duties as requested or assigned.
• Assist in transfers (wheelchair, stretcher, etc.)
• Act as a liaison between Resident and Facility by providing and obtaining information as necessary
• Ensure appropriate internal communication following all appointments
• Hand carry necessary documents (medical records, forms, etc.) and specimens
• Miscellaneous tasks by Appointment Coordinator and/or Director of Nursing
