Required Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience as a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES)
- Licensed in states where practicing
- Proven time management and multitasking abilities
- Strong interpersonal and public speaking skills to effectively engage clients
- Ability to work independently in virtual and on-site settings
- Effective communication with diverse populations
- Cultural humility in client interactions
- Strong clinical and counseling skills, with a focus on diabetes care
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5 years as a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES)
- Credentialed with major insurers such as Independence Blue Cross, Highmark, Aetna, United Healthcare, and Cigna
- Additional certification such as Board Certified Specialist in Obesity and Weight Management (CSOWM)
Job Description: As a PRN Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) with our team, you will provide specialized diabetes care and education both virtually and in-person at client worksites. Your role includes preventing, managing, and supporting those with diabetes through Medical Nutrition Therapy and other evidence-based interventions. You will also engage with communities through health fairs, educational seminars, and hands-on cooking demonstrations, utilizing your public speaking skills to promote diabetes self-management. You’ll be a crucial part of an interdisciplinary team, working alongside wellness coaches, dietitians, and nurses to meet the unique needs of each client group.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct impactful, person-centered, 1-on-1 diabetes care and education sessions, both in person and virtually
- Provide between-session support through ongoing digital messaging with participants
- Assist participants in identifying root causes of health concerns and empower them to make sustainable lifestyle changes
- Ensure participant care meets the highest standards of professional integrity, ethics, and confidentiality
- Conduct webinars, cooking demonstrations, and attend health fairs at least once per month
- Participate in quarterly training sessions to stay updated on best practices and emerging trends
- Collaborate as an essential member of an interdisciplinary team
