Responsibilities of the Certified Dietary Manager (CDM):
- Responsible for supervising, assigning duties and tasks while responsibly directing the work of all food service department employees with full accountability of dining services department.
- Assures that quality nutritional services are provided on a daily basis and ensure that the dining services department is maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner.
- Evaluate performance and effectively recommend changes to terms and conditions of employment based on such evaluations.
- Determines quality and quantity of food required; plans menus and controls food costs; may be scheduled to prepare meals.
- Oversees the food preparation and cooking, to ensure meals are prepared per company procedures.
- Maintains inventory of food and nonfood items.
Requirements of the Certified Dietary Manager (CDM):
- Must have experience in a long-term care setting.
- Must have CDM.
- Strong interpersonal and culinary skills.
- Customer service orientation with the ability to work well under pressure.
- Compassionate and friendly demeanor.
