Job Description:
Sanitas Medical Center is seeking a dedicated Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - Clinical Care Assistant to join our South Nashville Antioch team. This role involves assisting in the registration, examination, treatment, and overall management of patients and their data. The Clinical Care Assistant will perform duties under the direction of a physician or other provider, focusing on health risk and chronic disease management for client company members.
Location: This full-time position is based at our South Nashville Antioch facility in Nashville, TN.

Clinical Care Assistant Roles and Responsibilities:
- Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Interview patients, measure vital signs, and record information on patient charts.
- Assist with daily patient flow in areas as needed.
- Provide direct patient care and perform indirect patient care activities and laboratory tests under the direction of a physician or nurse.
- Maintain a safe and aseptic environment.
- Perform EKGs, administer vaccines and medications via IM/SC/ID/Oral, and assist in procedures/treatments as requested by the physician.
- Perform supervised lab work as per physician orders and prepare instrumental equipment for sterilization.
- Adhere to Nursing Department policies and procedures.
- Check equipment and supplies prior to use for function, inspection, and expiration date; report malfunctioning medical equipment and safety issues to the supervisor.
- Maintain quality control and cleaning logs as needed for the department.
- Comply with Infection Control and OSHA Regulations for the center.
- Handle confidential information with discretion.
- Cooperate with personnel from other departments.
- Maintain logging system for different procedures and enter nursing procedures and other information in the computer system.
- Check medical records and follow up on obtaining missing results before patients' appointments.
- Rotate weekends, holidays, shifts, and center locations according to company needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- High School or Technical school education required.
- BLS certification required.
- Any combination of education, training, and experience demonstrating the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as described, including related work experience.
- One (1) year of Medical Assistant, CNA, patient technician, or Home Health Aid experience preferred.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred.
- Experience in electronic medical records systems (eCW preferred), Excel, Word, and PowerPoint preferred.
- Relevant or other job-related vocational coursework preferred.
Physical Demands:
- Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to operate tools and equipment.
- Must be able to exert up to 10 pounds of force regularly, 30 pounds frequently, and 50 pounds occasionally.
- Required to reach with hands and arms, bend, balance, kneel, crouch, crawl, push, and pull.
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Subject to environmental conditions, protection from weather but not necessarily temperature changes.
- Subject to noise, requiring shouting to be heard above the ambient noise level.
