Shift Timing: (06:45AM - 06:00 PM)

IMPORTANT - Work hours can range between 6:45am and 6pm with Tuesday having extended hours until 8pm. MA must work up until the Physician is completed with all patients. Therefore, they need someone who is able to stay beyond their end time to finish out the day if/when needed. Schedules are adjusted as needed in cases of shifts worked over 8 hours. 

Job Description:

• This position is to function as a member of the clinical team and completes assigned daily clinical operations to ensure smooth day to day operations in the SMG physician practice
• The Medical Assistant I must maintain a professional, positive manner when talking with patients (and all customers) in-person, over the phone or via email
• Works closely with providers to assist in delivering world class care to patients
• Rooms patient and prepares the patient for the provider visit
• Takes vital signs as necessary
• Responsible for accurate blood pressures, temperature, pulse, pulse oximetry, weight, height, respiratory rates and entering accurately into EMR
• Records patient history, chief complaint, pharmacy information, prescription list, etc into EMR for physical
• Obtains required consents, completes required forms as needed for specific visit types
• Properly labels all specimens, adhering to SMG policy
• Administers vaccines and medications as ordered by provider, adhering to SMG policies
• Responsible to follow TCM (Transitional Care Management), CCM (Chronic Care Management) and RPM (Remote Patient Monitoring) workflows if active in the practice
• Assists with incoming calls as needed by answering, triaging, and routing telephone calls appropriately as needed
• Schedules patient appointments and appropriate testing as ordered by provider upon check out from appointments or any other time as requested
• Must be able to work independently with little supervision
• Always uses discretion to ensure patient confidentiality
• Potential to convert to full time based on practice needs and performance.
• Seeking CMA with 2-5 years or experience, OBGYN experience highly preferred. Must have high level of patient focus, empathy and personalized communication and care.
• 16 Providers in practice and growing
• Anyone submitted to this position must be able to travel between offices based on schedule. Will not need to travel between practices during the day.
