Job Description: | The Department of Radiology at the College of Medicine, University of Florida is recruiting enthusiastic candidates who will participate in the care of patients in a hospital setting by answering phone calls from referring clinicians, placing orders in our electric medical system, and work with residents and faculty to expedite the treatment of our Interventional Radiology patients. Duties Include: Answer phone calls from referring clinicians & processes patient phone calls per specific protocols. Instructs patients regarding healthcare and treatments. Administers injections, minor procedures such as collecting specimens and applying dressing as requested. Assist physicians, extenders, and residents in preparing for minor surgeries, physicals, and maintaining supplies and equipment for the VIR clinic. Places orders in our electronic medical system. Maintains records in accordance with applicable standards and regulations, grant requirements, etc. Coordinates the intake, scheduling, and follow-up of imaging with our Y-90 patients. Assists with organizing inpatient admissions. Participates in continuing education activities, remaining knowledgeable in area (s) of expertise. Ensure completion of training and ongoing certification as required. Attends meetings as appropriate and meets regularly with supervisor to exchange pertinent information and receive supervision. Works with residents and faculty to expedite the treatment of our Interventional Radiology patients. Provides health care providers with information pertaining to their patient's health status. Responsible for coordinating the workload of the residents and staff. |
Expected Salary: | $19.00 - $22.50 |
Minimum Requirements: | Successful completion of the Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) exam offered by an appropriate accredited institute. Appropriate institutes include the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), the American Medical Technologists (AMT), the National Health career Association (NHA), and the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA). |
Preferred Qualifications: | Graduate of an accredited school or training program. |
