Education Requirements:

High School Diploma required

Certified or Registered Medical Assistant required

Experience required:

At least 2 years of applied Medical Assistant experience in a medical office

Preferred Experience:

3 to 5 years of applied Medical Assistant experience in a medical office

Job duties:

Busy, multi-provider office in need of a Medical Assistant who is very organized, self-motivated, team-oriented, and able to work quickly in a high volume office.

The right candidate for this position will be able to:

• Handle a high volume of patients
• Give excellent patient care and customer service
• Handle stressful situations with professional poise
• Communicate well both written and oral
• Complete patient vitals and history
• Accurately enter data into the EMR
• Assist with medication reconciliation
• Assist with medication administration and injectable medication preparations
• Assist physician with orders and referrals
• Access patient radiology in PACS system
• Give patient education
• Professionally handle patient phone calls
• Have knowledge of worker’s compensation, Medicare and commercial insurance
• Have ability to obtain insurance verifications and authorizations
• Assist physician as needed during patient exams
• Assist with medication refills
• Remove sutures or staples and change dressings
• Assist with casting
• Other duties as needed
