Job Summary
Our Certified Medical Assistants are a vital part of the clinical team and provide the highest levels of courtesy, respect, and customer service to our patients. This position manages all aspects of patient flow and clinical support after patients are checked in by our patient coordinators until departure. Urology training is provided to new team members; experience specific to urology is preferred. This position is responsible for running the treatment room carrying forth physician orders for things such as phlebotomy, urinary catheterization, and catheter care/changes, foley catheter care, medication administration and injections, bladder irrigations and installations, dipstick urinalysis with microscopic analysis (includes sending for cultures), pessary care and cleanings, EKGs as well as overall patient assessment. The Medical Assistant is responsible for all documentation (creating the nurse’s note and sending it to the MDs via EMR) and the overall flow of the treatment schedule which requires strong organizational skills and timeliness.

Responsibilities
- Patient Education to include instruction on specimen collection and/or procedure to be performed
- Supports patient care delivery by performing basic laboratory tests on-premises, sterilizing medical instruments, drawing blood, authorizing drug refills as directed, and preparing for exams, procedures, and tests.
- Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
- Maintains patient confidence and protects patient information according to HIPAA standards.

Qualifications
- Required Nationally Certified/Registered Medical Assistant (Successful completion of CMA (AMAA) Exam)
- Preferred two years’ experience as a Medical Assistant
- Graduate of a Medical Assistant program from an accredited college or technical school
- High School diploma or GED
