Job Summary:
Salmon Creek Post Acute and Rehab is seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to join our team. The CMA will be responsible for administering medications to residents under the supervision of a licensed nurse and supporting the nursing staff with essential patient care tasks. This role is vital in providing our residents with a safe, dignified, and high-quality standard of care in a supportive, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Medication Administration:
- Accurately administer prescribed medications, including oral, topical, and subcutaneous, according to facility protocols and under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
- Document medication administration and any observed effects in accordance with state regulations and facility policy.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines related to medication administration.
Resident Observation and Communication:
- Monitor residents for any adverse reactions, side effects, or changes in condition, and promptly report concerns to the licensed nurse on duty.
- Communicate effectively with nursing staff, residents, and family members regarding resident care and medication status.
Patient Care Support:
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility, as needed.
- Provide a compassionate and patient-centered approach in all interactions with residents.
Record-Keeping and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of administered medications, patient responses, and any relevant observations.
- Follow established policies for medication cart cleanliness and security.
Team Collaboration:
- Work cooperatively with nursing staff, rehabilitation therapists, and other healthcare professionals to enhance resident outcomes.
- Actively participate in team meetings and training sessions to ensure ongoing professional development.
Qualifications:
- Certification: Current Certified Medication Aide (CMA) certification in [State], meeting state regulatory requirements.
- Experience: Prior experience in long-term care or rehabilitation settings is preferred.
- Skills: Strong organizational, communication, and observation skills. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Physical Requirements:
