Job description
We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medication Technician (Med Tech) to join our team at Cadbury at Cherry Hill. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting residents with their medication needs while upholding the highest standards of professionalism, ethics, and quality of care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer medications to residents as prescribed by healthcare professionals, ensuring accuracy and adherence to medication schedules.
- Monitor residents for any adverse reactions or side effects to medications and report findings to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of medication administration and resident health status.
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed, including but not limited to bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare team members to ensure continuity of care and address any concerns or questions.
- Participate in training and education programs to maintain and enhance medication administration skills and knowledge of best practices.
- Adhere to all regulatory guidelines and company policies regarding medication administration and resident care.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, promoting a positive and supportive living environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or training in healthcare or related field preferred.
- Current certification as a Medication Technician (Med Tech) or willingness to obtain certification within a specified timeframe.
- Previous experience working in assisted living, long-term care, or a similar healthcare setting preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to resident care.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
