The East Boston Neighborhood Health Center (EBNHC) has an opportunity for a Certified Nurse Midwife to join our organization. For almost 50 years, EBNHC has been a leader amongst community health centers, receiving multiple awards and accolades. We have a full-time outpatient position for a CNM to join our expanding multi-practice group. You will have the unique opportunity to care for a diverse population. Bi-lingual Spanish, Portuguese, or Arabic speaking is highly valuable for this opening, although we have an excellently trained professional Medical Interpreter Department that are part of the Practice Team. You may also have an opportunity to teach medicine to medical students through our external programs with Boston University.
Under general supervision of the Medical Director of OB/GYN, this CNM will render diagnostic and therapeutic care to patients at the Health Center. On-call rotation for after hour urgent patient follow up, and responsible for clinical and administrative follow-up for a panel of patients.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Will be the primary manager of their own prenatal patient panel, co-managing with both NPs and MDs
- CNM works above the OBGYN NP model with increased visit access and increased responsibility as an empaneled prenatal provider.
- Available for obstetric consults from RN/NP
- Provides office-based antepartum and post-partum obstetric care. Provides gynecological care including both routine and problem-focused visits.
- Obtains comprehensive and problem focused health history
- Performs a comprehensive and problem focused physical exam
- Orders and interprets screening and diagnostic tests
- Demonstrates critical thinking and diagnostic reasoning skills in clinical decision making.
- Communicates with patients re: clinical findings
- Initiates appropriate and timely consultations (NP and MD)
- Utilizes Epic electronic medical record
- Qualifications and Requirements:
- MA License as CNM
- BLS Certification
- 1 year relevant experience
