To be eligible for consideration applicants should have: As a minimum, an unencumbered State of Illinois Certified Nursing Assistant, CNA certificate, or certificate of completion from a State of Illinois Accredited Certified Nursing Assistant, CNA training course. CNAs certified in the State of Indiana may be eligible for reciprocity and encouraged to applay. Prior Certified Nursing Assistant, CNA experience is preferable but we are willing to invest in the right candidate! As a Certified Nursing Assistant, CNA. you are the front line of the Clinical Department. Your work will ensure our residents receive the high standard of care they have grown to expect at Tri-State Village by performing Activities of Daily Living, observing changes in condition, ensuring a safe environment, and maintaining education. Working Conditions
Works throughout the nursing service areas (i.e., resident rooms, shower rooms, nursing units, activity areas, dining areas, etc.).
Moves intermittently throughout working hours.
Is subject to frequent interruptions.
Is involved with residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, co-workers, supervisors and management.
Is subject to emotionally upset and difficult residents, family members, staff and visitors.
Works beyond regular working hours and on weekends and holidays when assigned and/or when necessary.
Is subject to call-back in the event of emergency conditions such as severe weather, post-disaster, etc.
Attends and participates in continuing educational programs.
Is subject to exposure to infectious diseases, conditions, etc, including TB and the AIDS, HIV and Hepatitis viruses.
May be subject to the handling of and exposure to hazardous chemicals.
Specific Requirements
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
Must possess the ability to use a computer with a degree of proficiency.
Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with staff, residents, family members, visitors, government representatives, and the general public.
Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm for caring for our residents.
Must be able to meet the general health and physical requirements set forth by policy, which include a medical and physical examination.
