About the Job
Key Responsibilities and Skills:
Provide care to residents in the skilled nursing facility under the supervision of licensed nursing staff.
Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, feeding, and movement.
Deliver bedside care, help with treatments, and encourage rehabilitation through prescribed exercise programs.
Monitor residents for changes in their condition and report findings to nursing staff.
Participate in developing residents' care plans and maintain compliance with protocols and standards.
Operate and maintain hospital and nursing equipment efficiently.
Take on assignments in other nursing departments as needed.
Understanding of basic medical terminology and bedside care practices.
Ability to take and accurately record vital signs, weights, and other essential measures.
Proficiency in patient documentation and record-keeping.
Ability to interpret and follow written, oral, and graphic instructions.
Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Strong communication skills for interacting with residents, visitors, and staff.
Knowledge of infection control and aseptic procedures.
Familiarity with med-surg and skilled nursing facility equipment and supplies.
Ability to provide compassionate care, maintain confidentiality, and respect resident rights.
Physical capability to use proper body mechanics to prevent injury.
Ability to effectively manage work relationships and meet residents' physical and emotional needs.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Successful completion of a nursing assistant course.
Current California Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
Valid Basic Life Support/Healthcare Provider certification.
