• 1+ years of experience eligible for up to $4,000 (full time)

Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part time ANA/CNA position. Bonus amount prorated for Part time hires, per diem hires are ineligible.Current MaineHealth member employees are ineligible; former MaineHealth Members are ineligible until greater than 6 months separation from employment.

Med Surg 4 (MS4)/ Cardiac Unit – Acute Care Environment

Med Surg 4 (MS4) is a fast-paced 40 bed / 32 telemetry Adult Medical Surgical unit at Maine Medical Center Biddeford. The healthcare team provides care to adult complex patient populations from a wide variety of medical-surgical services with a concentration of post-cardiac procedure patients.

Position Summary

The health care work force of the future should have the knowledge and skills to provide patient-centered, community-focused, cost-effective, clinically-effective, coordinated care. To do these things successfully, the work force must be competent, flexible, and adaptive to changes in health care delivery and technology. Under the direction of an R.N., functions as a team member by performing delegated patient care activities and related non-professional services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients. Performs a variety of tasks including cleaning of care areas, stocking and disposal of linen and materials supply to ensure assigned areas are kept clean and adequately supplied.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

1. Education: High School graduate or equivalent preferred. Completion of a nurse's aide training course approved by the Maine State Board of Nursing preferred.
2. License/Certifications: State of Maine C.N.A license andBLS Certification required.
3. Experience: One year experience in an acute care setting desirable.
