CNAs at Parker Jewish Institute for Health Care and Rehabilitation are responsible for performing personal care and selected procedures for the residents and patients under the care of a licensed nurse.
Key Tasks:
- Performs care and provides assistance as needed to residents
- Evaluates and reports residents' basic needs
- Uses equipment required in the care of residents
- Reports changes in resident's condition to charge nurse
- Measures and records resident functions
- Assists residents in following prescribed restorative nursing program
- Answers call bells promptly
- Maintains resident living area in clean and orderly condition
- Assists with admission and discharge procedures
- Participates in facility committees as appointed
- Assists in orientation of newly assigned personnel
Required Qualifications:
- Current and valid NYS CNA certification
- Recent, relevant experience working with the geriatric population a plus
- Prior experience working in a long term care, rehab or nursing facility
- Flexible schedule with the ability to work weekends and holidays
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Someone who likes to be part of a team; contributes as an active team member; helps out the team as needed
