Hello! Thank you for your interest in joining the Wellspring team as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at our Covenant Skilled Nursing and Rehab at Wellspring. Covenant Skilled Nursing and Rehab at Wellspring is a partnership between Covenant HealthCare and Wellspring to help patients transition from the hospital to home. The new facility is part of a $5 million investment by Covenant and Wellspring to provide the most advanced post-acute care and services in the Great Lakes Bay Region. The Covenant Skilled Nursing and Rehab at Wellspring also provides physical, occupational and speech therapies performed by Mary Free Bed therapists in a newly renovated, state-of-the-art facility, working closely with the nursing department to assure the highest quality in post-acute programming.
As a CNA with the Covenant Skilled Nursing and Rehab at Wellspring, you’ll be part of a team of nurses, CNAs and senior support staff committed to helping seniors and families in Saginaw. In this position, you'll be directly supporting your community in Saginaw County to provide services to seniors. In this position, you'll bring a high school diploma or equivalent and current, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license registered with the State of Michigan is required. Additional experience with caregiving and working with seniors in a long-term care setting is preferred.

As a CNA, you will:
- Provide individualized attention, which encourages each resident's ability to maintain or attain the highest level of independence and physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being.
- Remain knowledgeable of the individualized care plan for residents and provide support to the resident according to the care plan; contribute to the care planning process by providing the charge care planning staff with specific information and observations of the residents' needs and preferences
- Maintain the comfort, privacy, and personal dignity of each resident in the delivery of services to them; interact with residents in a manner that displays warmth and promotes a Christ-centered environment
- Abide by all aspects of residents' rights, including the right to be free of restraints and free of abuse; responsible for promptly reporting to the charge nurse or administrative staff incidents or evidence of resident abuse or violation of residents' rights
- Protect the personal belongings of each resident; promptly report missing items according to established policy and participate in efforts to locate missing items
- Attend to the individual needs of residents which may include assistance with grooming, bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, incontinent care, toileting, colostomy care, prosthetic appliances, transferring, ambulation, range of motion, communicating, or other needs in keeping with the individuals' care requirements. (Activities of Daily Living – ADLs)
- Provide care that maintains each resident's skin integrity to prevent pressure ulcers, skin tears, and other damage by changing incontinent residents, turning, repositioning immobile residents, and applying moisturizers to fragile skin, etc.
- Answer residents' call lights promptly and courteously
- Perform various tasks assigned by the supervisor including preparing residents for visits to and from healthcare providers, collecting and reporting information about the resident: vitals, weights, specimens, etc.
- Lift, move, and transport residents, using proper body mechanics or lifting devices for accident prevention
- Be subject to mandated work past the normal shift time to assure proper coverage for resident care and safety (as needed)
