About the Job
Patient Telemonitoring utilizes CNAs in remote video monitoring of our patients who need an extra set of eyes and redirection for their safety. We use a system called Avasure which allows us to watch up to 24 patients remotely. The most common types of patients we watch are fall risk, elopement, and patients who pull lines and tubes. The system allows for 2-way communication- we also have prompts in multiple languages and have a validated "STAT" alarm we use when a patient needs urgent assistance from floor staff.

As a CNA in our Patient Telemonitoring Department, you will be a key member of the healthcare team at BMC. Under the direction and supervision of the registered nurse (RN) and in accordance with hospital policies, procedures, protocols, and standards of practice, our CNAs provide direct clinical and support services. Using our patient-centered care model and uplifted by a supportive nursing organization, you will participate in the delivery of care to our patients and their families. You will also work cooperatively with all healthcare team members to provide a variety of support services to meet patient, family, and staff needs.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform a variety of appropriately delegated patient care interventions for patients and their families.
- Clinical services could include, but are not limited to: obtaining vital signs, bathing and feeding, dressing wounds, assisting with hygiene, cleaning rooms and linens, and emotional support.
- Perform a variety of environmental and inventory activities to ensure a safe, clean, and appropriately equipped environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
- Contribute to the efficient operation of the Patient Telemonitoring Department, ensuring quality patient/family clinical outcomes.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- A high school diploma or GED certificate
- Certification in basic life support (BLS), including CPR certification (must be current or obtained within 30 days of employment)
- Ability to pass clinical competency testing
- Physical ability to meet job responsibilities
- Basic math and computer proficiency
One of the following:
- One year of previous experience as a CNA in an acute hospital setting
- Currently enrolled in a nursing program and have completed two cycles of clinical rotation
- Completed an approved certified nursing assistant training
- Completed an approved certified medical assistant training
