The Certified Occupancy Specialist is responsible for overseeing and performing the re-examination process for continued subsidy of current residents in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations.
Qualifications:Education
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Occupancy Specialist Certification required within 90 days of employment, if not currently certified.
• Associate’s degree in public service, business administration, or related field preferred.
Experience
• In the absence of an Associate’s degree, two years of experience in multifamily housing field preferred.
• Working knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations pertaining to HUD multi-family housing.
• Knowledge of basic math principles sufficient to perform calculations for determining rent, resolving discrepancies, and EIV errors.
Other Requirements
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
