POSITION SUMMARY:
This position reports directly to the Behavioral Health Nurse Manager.Responsible for providing direct clinical services on the Behavioral Health Unit for both adolescents and adults.The incumbent, under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist will be involved in the development and coordination of groups and activities.Accountable for providing individual and group treatment based upon treatment plan and unit needs.In close collaboration with the Occupational Therapist, will ensure that treatment interventions are appropriate, meeting patient’s individual functional status and up-to-date with current discipline practices.Contributes to creating a caring and compassionate environment through ECHN’s core values of respect, teamwork and communication.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION
- Associate’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from a college with an Accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program.
- National Occupational Therapist Assistant Certification and State of Connecticut Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) license required.
EXPERIENCE
- Previous Behavioral Health experience working with adolescents, adults, geriatrics and substance abuse population in an acute care setting preferred.
COMPETENCIES
- Flexibility, creativity, energetic, teamwork and time management skills are required.
