About the Job
Emerald Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is currently seeking a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join our dynamic healthcare team. As a COTA, you will collaborate with licensed Occupational Therapists to provide comprehensive rehabilitation services to individuals facing challenges in daily living activities.
Responsibilities:
1. Implement individualized treatment plans designed by Occupational Therapists.
2. Assist patients in developing or recovering daily living skills through therapeutic activities.
3. Guide patients in adaptive techniques and the use of specialized equipment.
4. Collaborate with the Occupational Therapist to assess patients' progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
5. Record and maintain accurate documentation of patient evaluations and treatment sessions.
6. Educate patients and their families on adaptive strategies and home exercises.
7. Foster a positive and supportive therapeutic environment for patients.
8. Communicate effectively with the healthcare team to ensure coordinated patient care.
9. Stay informed about the latest developments in occupational therapy through contiuous professional development.
COTA – Qualifications:
- MUST hold a current and valid COTA license in the state employed
- Long term care/post-acute care setting preferred
- Completion of postsecondary education
- Capable of maintaining regular attendance (i.e., weekend shifts and overtime) as required
