Achieve Beyond was founded in 1995 and is continuously growing to meet the needs of developmentally disabled children through our ABA, speech, occupational, and physical therapy. We currently offer our services in the entire metro New York area (including the five boroughs of NYC, Hudson Valley and Long Island) and Albany, New Jersey, Connecticut, Delaware,and the Virginia/ Maryland/ DC area. We specialize in conducting initial evaluations and providing ongoing services in home, community and clinic settings. Position:Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant
Location:Part Time and Full Time Caseloads available in our clinic located in Fairfax, VA
JOBRESPONSIBILITIES:
- The individual in this position is responsible for the implementation of occupational therapy services under the direction of a Licensed Occupational Therapist to achieve desired patient outcomes.
- Provides goal directed and activity oriented treatment to promote optimum independence in self-care, functional mobility and daily life tasks.
- Ensures continuation of performance through effective education of the patient, family or support system.
- Provides adaptive methods and equipment as appropriate to enhance performance.
- Administer treatment focusing on activities of daily living, cognition, social skills, sensory motor, fine motor development, and problem solving.
- Determine appropriateness of patient's response to treatment and consult with licensed
- occupational therapist concerning modifications to plan of care.
- Identifies patient/family needs for other services and refers accordingly.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy assistant program and hold a current license to practice occupational therapy assistant in the state of Virginia
- 1-2 years of experience working in pediatricsis preferred but open to train new graduates. Must be able to work with some degree of independence within established policies, procedures, and professional guidelines
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to travel to and from assigned cases including but not limited to driving personal vehicle, walking, and/or use of public transportation such as a bus or train.
- The ability to climb and descend staircases
- The ability to lift 10 pounds regularly
- The ability to sit on the floor, kneel, and/ or crawl for extended periods
Compensation depends on experience and will be discussed during the interview process.
